We want to share these effective tips with more people like YOU at #LeadinHealthFAQ SeriesYes, it is! But then again, you may say that you have an uncle who smokes 5 packets of cigarettes a day, loves his bacon, hotdog and salted eggs, and never ever goes for exercise but he is still very much alive today. Everybody has someone like that in their family or circle of friends.
WHY?
So, why is lifestyle important then. All of us have risks of getting lifestyle diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and cancers. We can control some of these risks but not the others.
Whatever can happen, will happen.
There are some risks we can never ever control like the family you are born in, your ageing age, your gender (with exclusion of transgender community), your race and also the environment around us. .
But, at the same time, you also have a choice!
We are given choices to live the life the way we want it to be. Be it our diet, physical activity, stress level and habits like alcohol drinking, cigarette usage and sleeping habits.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
For the uncontrollable risks factors, health screening will help in early detection of any diseases. Prompt treatment following the diagnosis of any lifestyle diseases will improve your quality of life, reduce risks of further deliberating complications and prolong life.
If any medications and supplements are needed, proper usage will help you manage the condition better. For that, an adequate coverage of medical and health insurance would certainly be beneficial to cover the expenses.
Whereas, for those factors that you are in control; let's take charge of them. It will definitely reduce the risks of us getting any lifestyle diseases.
After all, we are gifted with healthy body when we were born, isn't it wise to keep it healthy to have more quality lifetime to enjoy life.
